Joy is Contagious

Joy is contagious.

Have you ever noticed that?

Are you aware that you are effected by another's joy or negative moods?

Previously I've written about when you put a smile on your face it affects your entire body’s chemical makeup causing a positive endorphin cascade resulting in mood enhancement, overall improved sense of well being, positive immune response, etc.

That same blog stated that you can experience the emotion of joy which will also have the positive effects of that chemical cascade.  Either the emotion or the physical smile drives the positive response within your body.

Color, light and sound also affect you as they are all frequencies within your world.

Here are some additional facts about energy or frequency.

When multiple pendulum clocks, which are all hanging on one wall, are in motion, they will eventually start to resonate and entrain to one another’s frequency.  All of the pendulums on the clocks will eventually start to swing at the same time.

It is a known occurrence that when you strike a tuning fork that the string of the violin which corresponds to that frequency will start to vibrate, no others.

If you have multiple women in a single household, eventually all of them will start to cycle at the same time.

How are you affected by everyone around you?

Can you hold strong to a positive state and allow others to resonate into your frequency, or do you always resonate to where they are?

You may as well become conscious of this and start to practice seeing how long you can hold a positive state in your household when others are being irritable.

It’s a fun experiment on yourself.

Practice holding your own positive state in a wise way while still having respect and compassion for those around you, but do maintain your internal joy.

Own your happy space today.

See if you can hold your state of joy and affect those around you allowing them to harmonize with your positive mood.

Practice makes perfect, now where have we heard that before?  Ha!

Enjoy your journey.

Color Plays a Role in Your Health

Color affects you in many ways.  What you are seeing is a reflection of light bouncing off of a solid surface.  You are actually reacting to the frequency of the light representing the color. Energy medicine once again.

You are getting exposure to a variety of colored light throughout the day.  Mostly green if you live in a rural area, then again, since it’s still a little wintery there is still a lot of brown out there.  Thank God for the color of the sky during those wintery months.

This chart depicts different ways in which some basic colors or light frequencies affect you.

The color of light pink has a sedating effect on our nervous system and is now being used in mental institutions, prisons, and detention centers to calm people down.   Here's a fun fact that you may want to try out, wearing Baker-Miller pink therapy glasses has been known to suppress appetite, as well as decrease aggression.

Science is now starting to prove what people have innately known. The color red has a stimulating affect on our nervous system.  That is why bull fighters have used it for decades to stimulate a bull into action, where the color gold was used to calm it down.  What’s amazing is that the bull is affected by the color even when it is color blind. It is actually the frequency of the color of the light that effects us.

You subconsciously respond to the effects of color whether you consciously recognize it or not.

Here are some commonly referenced relationships between color and what it affect:
Color                     Energy Center (Chakra)                 Organs/Body Parts
Red                        base of the spine         adrenals, kidneys bladder, colon, spinal column legs
Orange                  sacral                              reproductive organs, genitals, gonads, prostate, spleen
Yellow                  solar plexus                  pancreas, liver, gall bladder, stomach, nervous sys.
Green                     heart                               thymus, circulatory system, arms, hands
Blue                        throat                             thyroid, parathyroid, lungs, mouth
Indigo                    forehead                        pituitary gland, left eye, sinus, nose, ears, eyes
Violet                     top of head                    pineal gland, cerebral cortex, right eye, CNS

Notice what colors you are drawn to and how they affect you.  Notice what you are craving to wear, or what you are adverse to.

Becoming more present with this will give you insights into how you are functioning, what you need, or how you are treating your own health issues without even being conscious of it.

Try wearing colored glasses in 15min intervals around the house and see how it affects you.

Sunlight's Role in Your Health

Light definitely plays a role in your health.  Many of the original natural health centers around the world had their patients get twenty minutes of sunshine on their bodies a day; helping to boost patients overall mood, sense of well being, and general health assisting in resetting their circadian rhythm.

Of course, we all know that our bodies convert sunshine to vitamin D when we are functioning in a healthy state.   It is always best to get your nutrition from the source rather than a supplement if possible.

Use your wisdom when gaining direct sunlight exposure.  Physical exposure to sunlight in certain areas of our planet may quickly lead to overexposure such as at  high altitudes or locations around the world where there is a known thinning of the atmosphere’s ozone layer.

Within all things, use your wisdom to guide you. Twenty minutes of direct sunshine on your hands a day is a healthy place to start.

Natural light affects your circadian rhythm which consists of behavioral, physical and mental changes occurring within a 24 hr period of time. This is how your body is attuned to the cycles of day and night, which plays a critical role in your health.

A master clock that controls your circadian rhythms consists of a grouping of cells within the brain called the suprachiasmatic nucleus, or SCN. The SCN is located in the hypothalamus.  The SCN receives information from incoming light, as a feedback from the optic nerve which relays information to the brain. The SCN then triggers the release of melatonin which makes us sleepy, affecting our circadian rhythm.

The hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis is the main controller and feedback mechanism of your body, controlling hormones which relate to every conceivable body function.

This has effects on our immune system, feeding and breeding, our ability to fight off disease, hunger and obesity, repertory rate, diabetes, blood pressure, depression, and mental faculties.  This rhythm controls our sleep wake cycle so it’s vitally important for brain function and body regulation.

Sleeping at night and being awake during the day would obviously be the best choice for promoting a healthier state.  The natural light which you would be exposed to during daylight hours contributes to a functional circadian rhythm which in turn would promote overall health and well being.

If this is not possible for you to keep a schedule that allows you to be awake during the day do seek out a natural light system to use in the lighting in your home when you are awake.
